News/Events

Flamingo Safari is proud to announce that, on 31st March 2012 in corroboration with Help to Selfhelp in Africa is going to participate to a ceremony of handing over the Katulani Biogas, pig and water project in Kitui to the School management. This is the only project of its kind in this region, also the biggest that has been turned to be a learning centre.

5. February 2012 - New office.  Flamingo Safari has moved into new office in Nairobi. This new office is situated strategically much better in relation to the airport and to Daniel’s and the staff's homes.  The traffic jams are avoided and it saves time.  We also have stable power supply, as we now are connected to good back up power.  We are no longer dependent on  the town`s lack of power.  We are very satisfied with our new office.

25. January 2012. 2011 was a good year for Flamingo Safari. Escalating number of clients. The progress of the company Flamingo Safari is good.  This year we can celebrate our 5 years anniversary and can conclude with increasing number of guests, inquiries and annual turnover.  Kenya´s tourism rose by 15.4 percent to 1.26 million in 2011. We are happy to be part of this and the result motivates us.

14. January 2012. Flamingo Safari´s profile. Our cooperation with Help to Self Help in Africa has resulted in the concept: Meaningful Safari.  The concept combines traditional Safari with more intimate cultural events and home visits.  It gives a good insight into the aid and helping programs and the value of seeing the practical outcome.  Our experience so far has given good and appreciated response of the trips and many of the clients have made the trip a second time.

10. January 2012 - All people should experience the Meaningful Safari – Something happens to you!  You can join the tours by directing to Help to Selfhelp who arranges and offer such Safaris (www.selvhjelpiafrika.org). In Kenya you can find a lot of national parks and you can choose boat trips on the Victoria Lake or rather go to the big city Mombasa by the Indian Ocean. Also Kenya’s golf tourism is growing. Only a few years ago Kenya was an undiscovered golf destination but during the 2011 International Golf Travel Market held in Turkey, Kenya was one of eight countries nominated as the best golfing destinations. The prices vary depending on the number of days, standard of the hotels and the seasons.

9. January 2012 - Music is an important part of Kenyan culture. The Conquerors are a band from Kawangware in Nairobi. They are supported by Help to Selfhelp in Africa in order to establish a business and to spread their wonderful music. Flamingo Safari´s guests are being entertained by this band. The Conquerors are also guides for those who want to visit a church or to see successful aid-projects in the Kawangware slum. The group is offering entertainment which fits into audiences who appreciate to participate in the dancing and singing.  Their style suits especially into groups who wishes the entertainers to mingle the guests.  You will meet the African culture in their music, dance and drama in a simple and wonderful way.  Do you want to offer your guests something unique, - this is the answer!  You will walk back home happy after a meeting with the Conquerors!
